Xbox Update and External Hard drive problen

Hello everyone, a few days ago, I ran across a problem which I believe started with the Update on Oct 10.

It began when "Events (Beta)" had stopped and failed to install, I did a number of options like trying to reinstall it, and after a few attempts, I thought of cancelling the Installment (of a portion of that update) and redoing it, now here is where the
problem starts.

I never saw that update again, nor can I find it on the Microsoft store, so I thought "who cares, I have my games" or so I thought, my External Hard drive now isn't being detected by my Xbox.

With a bit of research abd surfing the Microsoft site, I found out that the Xbox can't detect your External Hard Drive without being fully updated, beneath it had a few solutions to try out like going to "updates & downloads" so I did but now it's saying
my Xbox is fully updated which has me really confused.

About an hour ago I did a factory reset on my Xbox to hope my Xbox will do the updates again, now, whether or not my dad downloaded some apps on his spare time or if they came with the Xbox (like the Achievements app), idk but now they aren't installed anymore.

I really need some advise and help with this.

Hi mate I'm guessing you did the restart that wipes everything from the console?

The internal hard drive on the new Xbox series x is totally blank there is nothing on the internal hard drive zero zip so all my games are on the external hard drive told the machine to update to the external hard drive it will not update to the external hard drive do I have a defective machine I just bought it does it need to be returned can you help or not and if you can how to!?

If you recently updated your console with the February 2020 update, it has bricked external hard drives world wide and Xbox Support refuses to acknowledge that the last update is causing an issue with external hard drives. No games will download, install,
or launch from external drives since the update. They've known about this for close to a month.

Thank you for keeping us updated. There are some instances in which games on an external hard drive do not receive updates. We recommend moving around some of the games on the internal and external hard drives. Since your internal hard drive is full, you
can move some of them to the external hard drive. Once the internal hard drive has some extra space, we suggest moving some of the games from the external hard drive to the internal. Check to see if those games require any updates. Be sure to let us know the
results!
