XBOX unresponsive,- not solved...

So...

The below was posted in the forums a week or so ago and it's the exact same problem I have repeatedly (although I'm having this problem at other times and with other games as well). I also have two buddies with the same problem and my spouse has it too.
(I only mention it here because apparently if they chime in they will be scolded...)

After chiming in (like several others stating that they have the same problem, the problem was marked solved with zero feedback from the original poster but several from others.

Solution? unplug the xbox.

When I made a comment about the problem not being solved (who wants to power off and repower their 400+$ device three or four times a week), I was chided that who was I to say it wasn't solved and I should start a new thread with my OWN issues, and then
the thread was locked... Really?

OK, here goes. THIS IS AN EXACT COPY OF THE ORIGINAL POST.

"Yesterday I started downloading AC Unity, and after a while when I came back to check how much downloaded, the screen was almost frozen except I could only bring up the Turn off console/controller menu and that was it. Now whenever I turn my Xbox off and
on again, it opens to dashboard but is still frozen and I can still only bring up the xbox menu. I can't switch screens or even move around the main page. The main box is just a black square, not the picture of the game in the disc tray. Any help is appreciated."

Usually forum moderators frown on duplicate threads but what the heck, I guess it's what the ambassadors want here?? Still seems silly to me.

Is there a fix for the above besides powering off by getting behind your entertainment center and unplugging the device? (@DigitalAssassin and @Nine Eight Nine need not respond...)

Rumor: Xbox One To Cost $399 & Drop Kinect Requirement

Like many of us, the Kinect is a waste of materials to me. I don't want to replace my controller with an unresponsive and inaccurate device that actually makes gaming more tiring and a chore.
I want to sit back, kick my feet up and relax as I run around solving puzzles and quests or blasting random pedestrians as I go.
Not jump, spin, flap and duck in the middle of my study!

 

Anyone know how to fix X button?
