Xbox uninstalled my games

    Xbox uninstalled my games


    My Xbox One X has apparently uninstalled roughly 14 games by itself. I am unable to reinstall the games due to the fact that the hard drive space that these games used was not returned to me. Something is still utilizing the space even though my
    Xbox is telling me that the games are uninstalled. Also, everything is on the Xbox hard drive. No external HD in use. What can I do to either recover the games or hard drive space? Is anyone else having this issue? I was told that
    I “should probably factory reset my system”, but, I really don’t have any desire to spend the next day or two reinstalling everything. Is there a way to circumvent whatever has happened or am I just stuck resetting and watching my $500 paperweight update
    and reinstall everything all over again?

    Unfortunately as others have mentioned, it seems like a factory reset is the most likely solution. I'd recommend picking up an external hard drive first so you can transfer over the remaining games, it'll save you having to download them all over again.

    Hi there, i am so sorry to hear this happen to you that is something that is very rare and shouldn't of happened when you mentioned that the space is occupied on the drive does it mention what is installed on the hard drive?

    The best way to check this is seeing if you can plug it into a computer or another xbox depending on its formatting as windows may not recognise it as anything which can cause issues :(

    Hi, you should do a factory reset and if if does not work so you will have to install all your games again.

    Yeah, I tried the hard reset and power cycle 3 times. No such luck. The games are still missing and the hard drive space is still occupied. Factory reset seems to be my remaining option. Any ideas as to what might have caused this?
