Xbox UI Advertising

I might have this under the wrong category. (Hopefully, I don't get a message from a "team community moderator" on how I didn't properly follow protocol.

I'm sure most people don't when casually posting something...

Anyways, I think if any Xbox user pays for a Xbox Live Gold membership. You should have the option to disable sponsored content on the front of your Xbox Home page. Similar to how if you pay for Outlook, there's no advertising.

I don't appreciate, like the fact I'm getting advertised content from other companies shoved down my throat when I'm paying for a subscription.

Doesn't anyone miss the 'good old days' where you'd turn on your videogame system solely and only for the purpose of playing a videogame, and that's all you see? It sort of dulls the atmosphere.

'Advertising' query on UK consoles

I only usually see 1 tiny advertising tile in the Xbox store for advertising - everything else is suggested content for Xbox Live, as 24 has already said. I'd be surprised if you can't handle ignoring 1 small tile in the entire UI. :|

 

Real False Advertising (XB1)

Regardless of perspectives the Xbox one system and UI is A LOT slower than advertised and it's gotten A LOT worse since launch.

I won't say false advertising because they changed too much before we got our hands on the system..but that's another topic

I think I've just gotten use to visually blocking out advertisements (no different from when I see them in the grocery store).

What kind of ads do you have? I literally have none.

 

At least this sponsored content is for games, movies, or apps. I would be more annoyed if it were for soda or dollar shave club or something like that.

 

Yea, seriously. Back in the 360 days it was bad. I’d see offers for Old Spice deodorant etc.
