XBox TV only goes to HD TV channels

Is there a way to make it so the XBox One TV does not go to a channel's HD channel? I do not have HD cable but every time I tell it to go to a channel, it goes to the HD channel.

Xbox one pass thr Recently downgraded HD channel to SD (Comcast)

Hi,

Recently the xbox's pass through now only displays HD channels in SD. When connecting cable STB direct to tv, HD channels are working, but thr the xbox, the HD Channels are displaying as SD. This was working, but within the last couple of weeks it no longer
works.

Interestingly enough the "HD ZOOM" button on the remote that toggles the display mode from the STB now only displays "Normal" so I *think* the STB believes it's communicating with a tv that doesn't support HD.

Some setup info:

TV - Sony Bravia 1080p LCD tv. Comcast STB. No receiver.

Freeview HD

Hi,

I have just brought the Digital TV tuner. My TV is a Sony Bravia with built in Freeview HD and i have a Freeview HD aerial in my attic, I have no problem receiving HD channels, however when i connect the same aerial into the TV tuner I only receive SD channels.
Am I missing something? how do I get HD channels to work?

I also purchased the Media remote, I don't have Kinect, do I need a IR blaster to get the remote to operate the volume on my TV?

Any help is appreciated!

 

im dealing with same issue. I don't have HD channels. I say Xbox watch TBS. and instead of it turning to TBS it turns to TBS HD. If I say TBS it should go. If I say TBSHD then it should go. but it not right for it to do that when we are talking. can they
please fix this,. dont force HD channels when your using a DTA box. or add more tv optionsto comcast instead of the one.

 

Did you try changing the One Guide settings? I know there's an option for HD only, perhaps there's an SD only option?
