XBOX TV and/or OneGuide not working

Hello,

I'm a new owner of a 1TB XBONE. I'm attempting to link up my cable box to my console with the hopes of taking advantage of the OneGuide feature. I've gotten the XBOX to put the cable one screen, but there is no guide. When attempting to set up the guide,
it doesn't ever ask me what manufacturer my cable box is, my cable provider, and etc. All it does is run through the option menus and put the picture on the screen.

Also, when I go into settings to try and set up the TV, cable box, and/or A/V receiver. I never get asked what the manufacturer is for any of those listed. It's almost as if the Xbox doesn't realize that it's plugged into the TV. I find this a very strange
problem.

I've tried resetting the TV settings, but that doesn't work. I'm beginning to get very frustrated and hope I get some answers

OneGuide and Xbox TV not working

I connected my set top cable box to my Xbox One HDMI input for the first time today. It asked me a few simple questions and now when i go into the app and to live TV i simply get a blank screen. I've tried searching around and could find NOTHING related
to this issue anywhere,all just discussions about a black screen on the Xbox period no signal at all. Any help from anyone about getting this setup properly?

 

1.Go to settings 2. TV and oneguide 3.oneguide ( all the settings to set up your cable provider are in there) 4. Device control right below oneguide then cable or satellite box (more settings for your cable box) 5. Then audio and video and troubleshooting

I forgot to add the most important thing is to get your cable box recognized by going to 1. settings 2.TV & oneguide 3. device control 4. Cable and satellite box 5. Search for your box or manually use satellite box remote control

 

Ive done both of the things you're telling me to do... I don't get an option to search for my box or tv like you're saying and I don't know how to search for remote codes. Or... what do you mean by manually?

 

Under device control you should be able to type in what brand of box you have plugged in under cable or satellite box setup. The more advanced way to set it up is to find 4 letters or digits or mix of both on your cable box then go to device control then
enter cable or satellite box remote code. Also make sure your kinect is in if you have one. Also be sure your HDMI is in the correct spot, it should be plugged into HDMI in port on back of Xbox and should be on HDMI out on other end.

 

I do not have kinect at this time. Is that why this feature isn't working?

 

I don't use the TV feature's on Xbox or use cable but I would think it should be fine without it as its hooked up via HDMI. If your still having issues I would advise you to contact Xbox support as the only experience I have from this is what I provided
above.
