Xbox turns on, kinect won't, black screen

I had a similar issue a couple hours ago.

The screen went black, but I knew the console worked because I could hear the audio prompt when I said "Xbox" and when Kinect logged me in after startup.

My TV also showed that it had a signal from the HDMI even though the screen was blank.

Turning the console on/off normally did nothing.

I held down the power button until the light went out, and the light on the power adapter turned red.

I then turned the console on, and the green xbox one screen appeared.

It then showed a black screen for a few moments, then the xbox logo in the center and then at top right.

It may have shown black again, but eventually displayed the home screen.

I also had an issue with the HDMI IN going black, but selecting "HDMI:Connected" in the TV&OneGuide settings | Troubleshooting fixed it.

CapricanToaster, you mentioned your Kinect kept turning on/off.

Have you checked the connection to be sure it hasn't come loose (unfortunately, I wasn't looking at my Kinect as the system was starting)?

My game won't load at all. I end up at a black screen and if I try to turn my xbox on with the game in tray, it gets stuck at the 360 logo intro screen. Defective copy?

Hey, its with Kinect. I've fiddled with the connections and to make sure the USB is secure, which it is.

The other issue, with black screen, seems to be around the HDMI. I've switched off UHD Color setting on the HDMI port on the TV and it seems to be working.

However, with the Kinect switch on, I think my Xbox is having issues, when I get the Xbox on, I get logged in via Kinect but it won't connect to Xbox Live. It won't even search for networks half of the time.

had the same problem, was stuck on the green screen and then kinect didnt even receive any power anymore. Was giving up hope already but after restarting a few times and then just waiting it out it turned to the black screen and after 2 minutes of the black
screen it just started working again. Keep believing friends and good luck!

Ahh right.

Unfortunately then mate it sounds like it is faulty. You should be able to use your console fine though ( without Kinect features obviously ) until you get a replacement Kinect so hopefully it won't take too long.
