    Xbox turns on but does not start


    By pressing the power button, my xbox s switches on for about 10 seconds. It does not send audio or video signals, then it turns off. No sound and no signal. Can the cause be one of the cooling fans that does not work?

    Xbox turns on but does not start

    If the cooling fan isn't working properly then that may cause the console to shut down if it triggered an overheat condition. Here is the Support article for power on problems:

    If the console is in warranty then you should only do the recommended troubleshooting steps and if that fails then attempt a warranty repair.

    If the console is out of warranty, then you can Google "xbox one s powers on then off" for some alternative fix possibilities. Use at your own risk.

    Mine does this when I first turn on my Xbox. I usually try to turn it on and allow 5-10 mins before starting a game and it seems to help.
