Xbox turns off when connecting USB

This may appear strange, but it is actually happening to me, I don't know why, but my Xbox One is turning off every time I connect a certain USB cable, I tested with another and it didn't happen. I just wanted to know, why?

I don't even need to connect the two parts (the bigger one and the micro-USB part), just the part that connects to the Xbox is sufficient to turn off it. When the Xbox turns off, it didn't make a sound as it would normally do and the light on the power supply doesn't go from white to orange like normally, it simply doesn't make any sound and doesn't have any light on it.

that particular cable may have a short inside somewhere, so the xbox will shut off to protect itself. i would not use that cable and would purchase another.

Thank you, I will not use that cable, but honestly, I am rather curious about the protection system of the Xbox, maybe its time to learn about electricity hahaha

Thank you, indeed another cable worked fine, I just will not test the same cable again as I can't afford another console hahaha, but thank you for your reply, the problem must be the cable itself, I just wanted to know why the Xbox turns off, Farscape247 reply must be correct.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. I'm sorry you're having this problem.

Reading your problem, I saw that you mentioned that you tested another cable and the problem did not happen, considering that apparently, the cause of it was actually the cable, it may be defective, if possible do a test on another USB port of your console with that same cable.

*A solution you could try to solve this if it was a console issue would be the option below.

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

*However, as I said above, I believe it is a defect in the usb cable that can cause this type of thing due to poor contact.
