Xbox turns off by itself after a few seconds

My sons Xbox One keeps turning itself off, We left it unplugged for a little while, plug everything back in, and it started fine, it even did an update & he managed to play a game, but then he got from school, plugged his console back in and it was all going
well then it just turned off. He tried a few times after and its still turning off.

We've been through the troubleshooting pages, its not over heating, its in a well ventilated place, and hes tried the bind button, Eject & the power button trick, it starts, then turns itself off. The power brick light is on, but once it powers down there
is no light. Is this a power brick issue or a console issue. I just want to get to the bottom of the problem, we need it working properly to get the console ID to aide us in recovering an account.

another thing I forgot to tell you is that sometimes it turns on by itself just a few seconds after turning it off.

Xbox one turns off after a few seconds

my Xbox one turns off after 2-3 seconds and I can't get it to stay on. I read through the support pages and my power supply seems fine (it always has a solid white for the 2-3 seconds or solid orange when off). Help!!!

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm afraid it's not really recommended to turn off the console if it's in the middle of update. If you already tried a different tv and hdmi cable and the issue still persist, I'm afraid the console needs a service. I suggest to keep trying this step as well.

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you should see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

Follow-up question, then. How do I get it serviced? Entirely my fault, considering I have waited days for updates in the past and merely lost patience this time around, so since the factory reset option isn't working, who might I talk to or how might I get it sent in to get fixed, and how much might that cost?
