Xbox Turning Off And On, On Its Own.

My Xbox has been turning its self off and on for the past 3 weeks and all I know is that it is not over heating or it's not the power supply so can anyone help me with this issue?

Xbox One Elite turning itself on and off on its own

My Xbox One Elite console has recently started turning itself on and off randomly!

All of a sudden it can just come on, sometimes staying on, other times turning off again and sometimes turning on again!

Also when it’s on it will randomly turn off whilst playing games or watching Netflix and stuff.

I have hoovered the dust out of the console and the power supply hoping it could be something like that affecting it but still have the problem.

I thought it may be something to do with a faulty on off button as it’s on and off being the issue.

Has anyone had a similar problem and remedied it or is this something that can’t be fixed!

Hi there!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Have you changed the console settings so it doesn’t turn off automatically? Additionally, have you cleared your persistent storage? You can do this by:

Scroll left from Home to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All Settings.

Select Disc & Blu-ray.

Select Blu-ray.

Select Persistent storage.

Select Clear persistent storage.

Turn off and unplug your console, and then wait 5 minutes.

Plug in and turn on your console, and try streaming the content again.

One last question: are you wired or wirelessly connected for your Xbox One? There are some wireless routers have settings that may cause your Xbox One console to shut down randomly. An example would be a power-saving setting or network setting may cause
your console to shut down.

If the above steps didn't do the trick and you believe it may be the power button. We'd suggest trying to power down the console and wipe down the front of the console, including the power button with a soft dry cloth. It's possible there is some debris
which is resting on the pressure point and causing this issue. If that doesn't help, your console may need to be serviced.

Hi there:

for a while now whenever my Xbox one s is plugged into the internet it occasionally shuts off without warning. The quick access menu also pops up randomly and rapidly over and over. Is there anyone else with these problem and is there’s any way for me to fix this. AND YES i have tried to trouble shoot the controller plug the xbox into a different outlet and make sure it has ventilation this issue has happened for the last 4 xboxs i have purchased

excuse my bad knowledge, i meant the series s and it’s brand new like out the box 3 hours ago
