Xbox turn off command

When I tell my xb1 in my living room the "xbox turn off" command it works perfectly but it also turns on my tv in the bedroom. Both TV's are Vizio and the bedroom tv has never been connected to the xb1. It started doing this about a week ago and has never
done it before. I have had the xb1 since day one. I am curious if anyone else has had this same issue?

Xbox On

It does work with separate on and off commands.

You have 3 tick options in the power settings (inside TV & OneGuide settings), xbox on - turns on TV and amp, xbox off turns off amp and 3rd option xbox off to include turning off TV.

So it's possible you can have it turn everything on with the "xbox on" command along with turning everything off with the "xbox turn off" command.

Edit: This also cleverly works if you use the controller to power up the xbox and not a voice command, also works using the controller to power up the xbox from a cold state (not using low standby feature)

 

"Xbox on" only works 30% of the time

"xbox off" cannot work for you. The command to turn off the Xbox One is "Xbox, turn off".

 

Hi buddy.

What's happened is your bedroom TV has line of sight, or can see a reflection of your Kinect sensor. The IR signal can bounce off pretty much anything bar stealth coating. There's not much you can do other than make sure your bedroom door is shut or block
the IR sensor on the TV.

 

Hey Grister! You should be able to configure your Xbox to NOT send the "off" signal when you shut it down. If you press Menu and go to Settings -> TV & OneGuide -> Devices, and then there should be a spot for Device Control. In here, you can set what your
Kinect does with your various devices when it receives an Xbox On/Off command.
