Xbox to Xbox audio fortnite

Hi

When playing fortnite, i can talk fine to friends on switch, playstation etc but anyone on another xbox i cant speak to. This was on xbox one, but same issue on my new X to.

if i go onto my nintendo switch with same headset i can speak to everyone, but on xbox i can speak to all except other xbox users. Cant see any setting issues.

Anyone had this? Any help?

hi there,

sometimes on fortnte the audio gliches out and what you need to do is before you go on fortnite start an xbox party up then load in to fortnite then go to your friends list then click Y then scroll down to audio channel then go xbox party chat to game xbox
party chat to game and that usually fixes it

Please check Fortnite Audio Settings. Open Fortnite and go to Settings > Audio.

Make srue all volume settings (Master Volume, Music, Sound Effects, etc.) are turned up. Verify that the correct audio output device is selected.

And then disable sound visualization. In Fortnite's audio settings, disable the "Sound Visualization" option, as it can sometimes interfere with audio output.

Next is to update Xbox firmware. Kindly make sure that your Xbox Series S is running the latest system update. Go to Settings > System > Updates to check for updates.

Then check audio output settings. On your Xbox, go to Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output.Please ensure that the correct audio format is selected for your headset or speakers.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly uninstall and reinstall Fortnite to delete the corrupted files from the game.

If its fortnite the game is bugged i usally turn off all the audio settings then turn it back on restart fortnite and join a xbox party then switch to game chat it works sometimes

Check that your privacy settings allow communication with everyone. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy. Select View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, and then make your changes.

Check the party chat volume for each person in your party. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Parties & chats. Select the party to expand the party roster, choose the person you want to check, and then verify that their volume slider is at a level that you can hear. To change the volume level, move left or right using the D-pad  or the left thumbstick  to adjust the volume slider.

Also check your NAT type:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.

Your NAT should be Open.
