Xbox to pc via hdmi

I have 1 monitor. I want to stream and play xbox. can i connect over hdmi so theres no lag. Will xbox show up on monitor without having to change video inputs? Like as in if it were connected to just the monitor

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! As Shaggy stated you will need a capture card to perform that operation. Depending on your PC size you may be able to run an internal capture card and if you are using a laptop your only option would be an external card similar to this one. Buy Razer Ripsaw HD Game Capture Card - Microsoft Store. Essentially once you have your stream software setup on your PC you can turn on the console and play the game inside of your streaming software window on the PC.

I think what you'll need is a separate capture card/streaming device.

The best known is the Elgato range, however they aren't cheap, but it allows you to do exactly what you described, ie plug your console into your PC and stream your games live.

The link ive provided is the cheapest in the range, it streams at 4k @ 60fps but its £190, it can capture but only at 1080p 60fps

Via HDMI, I only have this connected via HDMI, everything else is connected via SCART. there is no problems with the HDMI lead as i have checked it with my other XBOX (an older model) and i have no other sound issues (gmaes and streamed media from my PC
are fine) it's only when playing DVD's. i really don't know what else to do!?!

Just an HDMI cable or you can stream your Xbox one on the same network at home from the console to the PC via the companion app.
