I wonder if this will be just for those who bought direct from Microsoft though? I don't see them offering refunds to those who bought pre-paid cards from other retailers, as they are often sold for less than Microsoft charges.

 

Well thats a great gesture, at least the people who bought live just for the apps access can get their money back they otherwise wouldnt have parted with.

You can bet your bottom dollar MS would be doing none of this if xbone was selling...

 

Good stuff, i don't bother with online gaming on the consoles anymore and i did stack up my gold until Dec 2015 to be able to use lovefilm/Netflix and the likes on the xbox when i needed it, so i am quids in here.

This is why competition is good for us gamers.

 

I 100% agree, competition is great for the gamers.

Only rumour but I'm reading this morning that Sony could possibly announce at E3 a price drop and you can bet money if this is true Microsoft will follow suit again not long after.

The rate we are going, 6 months from now the games will be dearer than the consoles lol

 

I have to say that this is quite a shock. Surely its not going to be that straight forward? I bet people who have history of online gameplay are exempt from the refund maybe? A nice gesture all the same.
