XBOX third party apps

    HBO Go for the XBOX One

    Third party apps such as HBO GO are the responsibility of that third party. So it is up to HBO to make an app for xbox one. As far as streaming goes skydrive is available to stream movies

    You don't know what an SDK is do you?

    Of course there will be more apps in time.

    A new SDK has already released making 1080p easier a la Sniper Elite 3, and DX12's optimisations (50% of CPU freed up and effectively a second GPU added on by update according to devs) will show up in late 2015, with Halo 5 in late 2014 likely incorporating
    many features as 343 had access to it before it was announced. Halo 5 will be 1080p 60fps.

    Well now I have a slight idea on what SDK is XBOX third party apps :p lol. At first glance I thought it was some sort of file format -_- must be a memory floating around in my head somewhere.

    SDK stand for stranded DEV KIT, I believe. Any way Third party apps are up to the third party.

    When they gave us the season premier of game of thrones for free there was an ad that said HBO go coming soon to x1. Hopefully its real soon. My free HBO only lasts till June lol.

    MS announced cross-platform app support at their Build conference. A developer will be able to make one app and easily tailor it to Windows 8/RT, Windows Phone and the Xbox One. I'm not sure whether dev tools have already been released that make this possible,
    but once it gets into gear it should lead to a lot of new apps coming to the Xbox One as any dev making an app for Windows 8 (where's there's 200+ million users - far more than any console will ever have) can choose to make an Xbox One version much more easily
    than they could before.

    It'll be good for people who own more than one MS product too, as devs have the option of charging 1 price to get the app on all MS platforms, so if a dev offers that, you would pay once and be able to use the app on multiple devices - desktops, laptops,
    phones, tablets and the Xbox One.

    As long as said apps don't start becoming complete and utter crap like most of the stuff you might see on the MS Store (similar to how crappy the Indie games section is on the Xbox 360 if you want another parallel).

    Doubtful that the pay wall will be an issue, considering the rest of the MS ecosystem is without it. That Inconsistency could send the wrong message for MS.
