Xbox thinking I don't have Gold

Every time I try and join a party or play online it redirects me to a menu for upgrading to Gold because it doesn't think I have Gold, even though if I look at my subscriptions on the Xbox website it says I have it until the 27th (another 5 days).

Also, if I select the one month Gold trial and choose my card it says "This payment option is used on as many accounts as it is allowed to be. Remove it from those accounts and try again, or add a different payment option." which is weird because I have used
that card on this account before (how I have Gold right now) and am pretty sure I have not used it on any other account.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Or am I going to have to contact support?

Don't have Gold?

Hi there, I'm having trouble playing games and joining parties. I am in a family which one of the users does have gold. So I am confused on how I don't have access to play games that require gold or join parties.

What happens when you try to play online? Do you see an active subscription when you check
account.xbox.com? We have list of contact numbers for the phone teams

Hi Mister Okami!

As what can be seen on your account here, you're indeed subscribed to gold. Have you just renewed your xbox live gold? If yes. I would suggest removing the account from the console then signing back in would reload your profile. That should help fix your
current issue.

When I posted this I hadn't just renewed, I was still on the one month trial every account can use. I ended up buying a year's worth of Gold just after posting this though which fixed the issue.

Slightly annoying that I had to pay for Gold five days early, but I'm sure I can live with that.

I'm having the same problem! I've purchased one months gold with my PayPal I have an email and everything saying I've purchased it, also on my Microsoft account online it says I've purchased it and will be renewed the end of next month, but my Xbox still
won't let me play online and keeps taking me to the menu for buying gold too! Really annoying me I just want to play online

Double check account.microsoft.com to be sure your subscription is still active. If so try removing the account from the console, doing a hard restart, then re-adding the account.

I don't see a raise in the price for xbox live gold. You don't have to buy it at the xbox store itself. You could always check vendors for a deal on gold.

For the service provided i don't think that it is expensive.

Yeah, I think about it but I don't want to have 3 years of gold. I don't know if I will be still on xbox or if I will still have my xbox ahah.

I think that this has to do with having XBOX Live Gold. I've done some searching around the internet, and I don't think you can update it if you don't have gold. This is super annoying because I can't access my MyCareer that I grinded on for so long and
I just want to go back to.
