Xbox Themes and Gamer Pics Discussion

More customization for our home is a must, as well as making the avatars more prominent. As many have spent tons of money on them during the 7th generation.

 

Avatars are useless now.. They were only made to rival the Wii and they're Miis at the time.

 

I agree, but their presence is still on XB1. And surprisingly there a lot of Xbox users that enjoy them. I'm on the fence with them. But this is a continuation of the Xbox Experience, and a lot of it is sync'd.

On topic though if they do change up the dashboard eventually they should bring back themes, and avatars again since they are practically non existent now.

 

I do like the idea of the achievement backround pics being used for gamer pics. Also y'all make a good point that there isn't much room to see themes. I do want the UI to be less screen consuming anyways, then that would pave the way for themes to return.
I also want avatars to become more prominent among the UI just as it is on the 360 social and friends tabs.

 

If we can choose the colour of the tiles then why not add "transparent" as a colour option , that way , any themes that may be implemented in the future would be visible (to a certain extent).

 

I would love to have themes and more gamer pics on the Xbox One, although I don't think anything will make me get rid of my British bobby. The gamer pics that are already available on the Xbox One are nice (some of them) considering
they are free.

 

Avatars have indeed been left behind, but I personally enjoyed making custom gamerpics out of them. Especially when the animation for any props you had equipped played out as well.

On a similar note, I fully expected the kinect 2.0 to be capable of taking snapshots for totally unique gamerpics. I lost the photo I had snapped with the awful low-res xbox live camera when I made the transition to the One.

Any of the features suggested on this thread would be welcome; Xbox always offered more online identity than PSN and Nintendo Network.

So, there are no 360 themes that you can get free or purchase anymore? Well frankly, that kinda sucks. I've always enjoyed messing around with different themes (even though I'm the only one that can see them). I haven't even seen any gamer-pics that you
can add to your dashboard. If so, where are they? What's happened to Xbox live? Also, I heard something a little while back that MS is going to have Xbox Live in a couple of years. Is that true?

 

You can also add personal photos to your Dashboard background. This is what I do on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. It makes it more "personal" than someone "supplying you" a picture just to add to your Dash background. I use personal photos on my Dash background.
There's one good thing about that.... no one can flag you for Copyright for doing so. And you don't have to pay for it...

My Dash background is of some photos I took at Auckland Zoo with my Sony CX190 which does 4k stills and 1080p videos. I transfer the data from my camcorder to PC to console... wolla...

As for gamerpics, I've never been really into them. Others could be using the same gamerpic too on their profile.

I guess it's down to personal preference. I'm just glad I don't have to put up with the unchangeable black bland Dashboard background anymore OMGoey it was giving me sore eyes ;DD
