Xbox talk to text not working?

I recently updated my xbox gold and tried to use the built in tall to text feature and it's not working.

I have Cortana enabled. What's the deal? It worked a few months ago, so what's going on here?

The feature in question is when you have the virtual keyboard open and you hit the select button to the left of the xbox button. When you hit it, it it would listen for what you're saying and then dictate what was said into text format.

Thanks for posting. Could you clarify what you mean by "Voice to Text" in regards to messaging and Rocket League? Are you referring to the Cortana feature? If so, please be sure you have Cortana enabled. You can find steps on how to do that in

this guide.

If you could provide more specific information regarding "voice to text" and Rocket League, that would be lovely!

as the title says, my voice to text isn't working for messages and for rocket league. Has this happened to anyone else? If so does anyone know of a fix? I was on the preview program but once the official update came out I left it. Ever since it hasn't worked.
I loved this feature for rocket league and messaging. Help please!

I've already tried that, as well as initiating a hard cycle reset by clearing my mac address in the network settings. I'll try it again, but I suspect I'll be getting the same results as last time.

It appears that the talk to text functionality on the Xbox One is not working as intended.

Our suggestion here, attempt to Soft Factory Reset the console by choosing:

Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or
apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling the large game files.

This step will do the following:

1. Remove profiles (Keep the information needed for signing into any/all accounts)
2. Redo the network connection, so have a backup if needed, i.e. Ethernet cord, hotspot connection
3. Redo settings, be sure to select Manual Settings

Try this step out for us and let us know if this works.

Your suggestion actually made this problem worse. Now, even though Cortana is active, I hit the button to the left of the xbox button and now nothing happens. It wont even "listen" when i talk.

 

So.... how do we fix this?
