Xbox taking minutes to load

I logged into my Xbox and realized that it was acting very sluggish, so I checked to see if there was an update but there wasn't. I tried going back to the home-screen, but after that I got the message "For some reason home took too long to start". I finally decided to restart my Xbox, and after that my Xbox wouldn't allow me to log into my account (it was stuck loading).

I tried turning off my Xbox for 30 min, then restarting, and it finally worked, however it was on a grey screen for 3 min. I could hear the Xbox dashboard sound on my headphones, so I tried to keep on pressing the home button and I got to the sign in home screen. I tried opening up the dashboard again and it took 2 min. I then tried signing in to my account, waited a minute, then it went back to the screen on the dashboard saying "who are you?". I tried multiple times and it finally worked, however my Xbox is taking minutes to load everything. The whole Xbox is sluggish and restarting my Xbox doesn't help. I cant even load into a game because it whenever I do it takes me to a black screen where I cant do anything. Is there any way I can resolve this?

You could try to update your console offline, but that would also erase your games and apps if you didn't choose to keep them.

This issue can be fixed by clearing the cache and data from your Xbox console. What I would suggest is preforming a Soft Factory Rest by selecting Reset and keep my games & apps. This will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

I reset my Xbox by choosing the reset everything button, (because the option to keep games and apps weren't there) and for some reason I still have 75% of my games. This did solve my problem but I'm still confused on why my Xbox was running so slow?

Its impossible for me to go reset and keep games and apps because I am stuck on the troubleshoot screen. in which it doesn't allow me to do that for whatever reason. I also cant go back to the normal home screen and reset there because I am literally stuck on the troubleshoot screen. I cant just reset my Xbox and go back because it automatically puts me into the troubleshoot screen.

I did try solution 1 but it put me back onto the troubleshoot screen.

Any Ideas so I don't have to remove everything?

First I'm sorry you're having this problem. I see that you have already tried some solutions, I ask you to try the methods below, please.

Solution 1:

You can also hard reset the Xbox One console and its cache. Here is how to do so:

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

Solution 2:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options

*Select to keep your games and apps so they are not deleted during the process.
