Xbox takes too long to turn off Xbox One S

I would try hard power cycling the console as below:

To perform a hard restart, hold the power button for 10 seconds while the system is on. The system will turn off. When you hit the button again, it will start and display the green start-up screen. All your data is preserved, but cache is cleared and some
settings are reverted and log-in or game start issues are resolved.

Alternatively, you can perform a full shutdown by going to SETTINGS > POWER & STARTUP and change POWER MODE from Instant-On to Energy-saving. After changing the setting, choose "Turn Xbox off". It can be powered back on by holding down the GUIDE button
on the Xbox controller or the button on the front of the Xbox console. Once it's back online you can go back to SETTINGS > POWER & STARTUP and re-enable Instant-on.

First, let's try to power cycle your console. Press and hold the Xbox power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug from the power source for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

If the issue remains the same, it would be best if we perform a factory reset to remove potentially corrupted data on your console. There's an option to keep your games and apps.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console.
On the Reset your console? Please choose “Reset and keep my games & apps”

Hi i woke up this morning and i have a similar issue my xbox one s turns on for 3 secs then turns off.. mines under warranty so they will take my xbox away for fixing or replace it .. god knows how long it will be to fix 😐

If you're downloading something off of the dashboard (outside of a game) then it will continue to download even if the console goes idle.

If you are downloading something from with-in an actual game then it all depends on the game itself.
