Xbox support in Romania?

I’d like to have a Microsoft employee answer this.

It’s 2023 and there is still no Xbox support in Romania, an EU member country since 2007 and full Microsoft support including Windows, Office, and even tech support. Romanians can easily buy Xbox consoles at all bigbox stores at great prices and still there is no way to officially buy games. Fun fact: although you can’t access cloud gaming officially from Romania, you can easily turn on a vpn to connect and then turn it off, and you can play from “an unsupported region” with no lag whatsoever.

And the excuse of “romanian laws don’t allow us to” is stupid as Sony and Nintendo have been providing support here for a while.

We can speculate about the reason for this but won't be an official answer, but I'm sure it's not that Xbox doesn't want to have the service available in your country but this kind of situations are not just about the will of the company, there are laws and cost to be considered as well as logistics

Thank you for the reply, but I already got this reply many times during previous years and absolutely nothing changed.

We are already following those links, but nobody frum Microsoft is following us.

Please help us with a clear reason why Microsoft didn't provided Xbox support in Romania yet after so many years. Microsoft is already in Romania, so the only thing missing si Xbox support.

I believe all of us here in Romania have the time to wait for an official answer to this question.

Please help us get an official statement from Microsoft on this question.

They are aquired through official channels (I assume from other countries), not from black markets or not Microsoft directly, as they are not officially selling Xbox products in Romania.

Also, Microsoft is officially present in Romania with all their other products.

Hello wrt01_, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

Although I know you don't want to hear that it's not allowed that's exactly what I have to say. However, the reason isn't as simple as Microsoft can't do it. Because each country has specific rules and laws in place they must contact to request the service be allowed.

What I would recommend to you would be to contact other console players in your country and then start a petition to your government asking that Microsoft be allowed to have support and service in Romania.
