Xbox stuck on the Startup Troubleshooter after recent Alpha Ring update

Alright, let's start at the beginning. Making this post because I really, REALLY don't want to have to get my Xbox repaired, and just checking to see if there's something I may have missed or overlooked in the troubleshooting process.

So, sometime between, I don't know, 6-7 AM-ish (currently a quarter until 10 AM my time, so about four hours ago) I was in the middle of some Destiny when I got the update message while loading into a match. Obviously with that being an online game, I couldn't just do the 'skip and stay offline option,' and didn't care to play much else at the time. So I went ahead with the update. Problem: The update itself wouldn't actually start. It showed the progress bar and everything, but nothing was moving. I pressed the Xbox button on my controller and brought up the shutdown menu, so I knew it wasn't frozen. I decided at that point, in my infinite wisdom, to power cycle my Xbox to see if that would fix it.

Bad idea on my part.

For quite a while, my Xbox was just stuck on a black screen, with nothing happening. I turned it on/off, power cycled it, unplugged the power cord, everything I could think of to try and fix it. Nothing. Finally I did some googling, and found out how to pull up the Startup Troubleshoot menu. At this point, I have done literally everything. I've tried restarting, turning off, resetting to keep games and apps, offline update, even resetting to factory with removing everything.

Nothing has fixed it. The best I can get at this point is a 'Preparing console...' message, and then a progress bar that will go up to about 5%, before being met with a "Something went wrong" screen, which takes me right back to square one with the troubleshooting screen. Obviously I checked Microsoft's website, and the conclusion it brought me to is that my Xbox needs to be repaired.

Before doing that, just coming here to ask if there's any other way to try and fix this, or have I exhausted all my options? No one else getting this issue, nothing that waiting for a new update will fix, just my dumb self doing stupid stuff?

Also, I will add that through this whole process, I have gotten various error codes, the most recent being:

E106 00000009 80070002

Though all of them have followed that same general format. Not sure if it helps.
