Xbox streaming broken after July update

Hi,

Eversince the July update was installed, my xbox one stream (to laptop) is broken. I used to use it very often but lately the max stream length is about 20 seconds. After which it just drops connection and I have to restart the stream, only to be disconnected
20 seconds after again. It's unplayable and I have experienced this on two laptops. I used multiple LAN cables and don't use WLAN.

The connection graph shows a solid connection, but then it just suddenly drops to 0 and connection is dropped. It doesn't matter what games or apps are running, even an idle home screen is disconnected.

Last but not least: if I hit the test stream button, all tests fail, saying it cannot connect to xbox one. If I immediately hit 'stream', it works like a charm (for 20 seconds).

Nothing has changed in my set-up, just that I now have the July update installed. Rebooted numerous times, rebooted my router, but nothing helps.

Please advice! This is a major issue to me.

Mystery Update Prepares Xbox One For The Future?

I think game streaming is going to arrive with the July update because Windows 10 is being released on July 29. I definitely think it's going to be announced at E3. Plus, using the Xbox app on the Windows 10 Tech Preview there is a test streaming tab within
the app so that could be a good indication as well.

 

Xbox 360 download speeds slow

Hi,

I did some research and recall that around April 2016 the streaming broke after a firmware update. Can you check if there is a something related to streaming in the firmware upgrade around that time? So it's more around April 2016, rather than October 2016.

 

Yep, I to am having the same issue after the update. 20 seconds and then disconnect.

Tried everything you did also, nothing helps so I'm pretty sure it's the update.

Hopefully they will put our a fix for this. But I'm guessing until more people speak up, nothing will happen.

 

My streams haven't worked from the PC since the update too!

 

I thought this was only happening to me, I even factory reset my router to see if that would fix the issue but the problem persists. I also tried download the Xbox beta app in the Microsoft store but I'm still having the same problem. I hope they fix it
soon.

 

Last night I tried to go through the troubleshooter, part one was to do a powercord pull while it's powered on. Aka: a hard reset. Once done, I left it turned off for at least a minute (actually: I went to get some coffee ). Afterwards I tried to play
a game and to tell you the truth: my xbox took AGES to start up. Once it booted I could play a game without issues. So my xbox didn't break because of the hard unplug. This morning I launched my box and tried to stream over wifi. I launched youtube and watched
a movie (35 minutes) and I did NOT get disconnected.

Come to think of it: my xbox shuts down in a stand-by mode; meaning all updates are downloaded and installed while in this state. It does prevent me from a forced reboot when I try to play games, but it's likely this may cause issues with updates being installed.
I would really like to suggest you guys to perform the above procedure and see what happens for you. It may just be luck, but a hard-reboot may be what's required for you too.

I will continue the testing and please let me know if it works for you.

Remember: Launch you xbox, wait for it to log in to XBL (just to be sure) and than pull the power cord and wait for AT LEAST a minute (this allows all electrical condensors to flush and will result in a full clean start-up of your xbox).

Happening to me, recently after the latest (August) Xbox one update with the change of store, home screen, etc, I can't stream more than a few minutes, then now I can't even stream for 20 seconds like someone mentioned above. This is really ridiculous cause
I was using this to play my Xbox from my bedroom since it is in my living room. Before this happened, I streamed 6-7 straight with no disconnections or interruptions.

 

Alot of people are having this issue.. I believe MS is aware of it.

 

Happening for me, too. I hope they fix this; without streaming the XBox One is much less useful to me.
