  1. Xbox Store Shows Wrong Currency - Cannot Change Region


    I moved to the UK from Australia for a few years, and have now returned back to Australia. I took with me my Australian console, and about midway through my stay migrated my account to UK. Having returned to Australia I changed the locale on the console
    back to Australia and removed my UK payment details. I now have a One that is set to a locale of Australia also. For some reason though, the store online and on both of my consoles remains in GBP, despite my locales being set to Australia. I have Australian
    payment details on each console. I have read through the FAQ and guides on changing region, and followed them to the letter but nothing seems to work and my store is always in GBP rather than AUD. The only thing I can think of is that my current Live Gold
    subscription paid for on a UK card is still valid (until September 2017).

    I am just trying to spend a dollar on some damn DLC, not 65p.

    How to use microsoft credit abroad ?

    you can't use xbox currency out of region you never could.

    It's not a bank

    You would have to match the region and also xbox currency cannot be used on ms store

    Only xbox store in the region. That it was purchased in

    Xbox Games market place shows wrong currency for Latvia. It shows old currency LS(lats), but we have Euro currency here.

    Two months have passed no change

    Bump.

    Could it be related to the fact that the card used to pay for my current Live subscription had expired when it auto renewed, and I had to pay the owed money on a different card?

    Also, this doesn't seem like the best avenue to obtain support for proper account issues, neither does Twitter (I don't have a Twitter account). Isn't there a support email address I can contact...

    I'm sorry to see any Billing issues! We don't work over the weekend, and work oldest to newest, so we might have missed this one. With the US holiday, too, it impacts a few things for us. Xbox Store Shows Wrong Currency - Cannot Change Region :)

    It sounds like your Xbox account is still stuck in the UK. Try an
    account migration
    back to Australia and see if that works out for you.
    This article
    explains some of the changes that happen (but doesn't give that region migration link). If not,

    give support a ring
    instead to see if they can dig into why your account's region isn't changing.

    I know it sounds like I'm shoving you off, but I'm not. My hands are unfortunately tied when it comes to billing issues. If you've already contacted support, message me a reference number for that chat so that I can see what our other options are. If they

  6. Thanks for the reply, no probs about the delay, I was more just adding extra thoughts.

    I have tried that account migration link a number times and the response I get is "There’s a problem completing your move right now. Please check the
    Region Change Support Page to make sure it will work for you, and try again later." Looks like I will need to call or chat with support.

  9. Will do. I am being a bit lazy about the whole thing, so will sort it out eventually. Part of me is just thinking I will wait until my Gold ends in September, and then see if it is "fixed" magically.

    Haha no worries, I communicate via email for much of my job, so I know that being clear in text only is a bit of an artform. Plus, have been a part of enough forums to know how to behave Xbox Store Shows Wrong Currency - Cannot Change Region :D.

    I still haven't resolved this issue, but only because life gets in the way, and its not enough to actually stop me from gaming, on the few evenings that I ever can.

  10. Right. Update time! Problem solved for any future person reading this.

    I had to let my Gold subscription lapse without auto renew (the devil). Once my Gold ended I could then go through and remove all payment options, and also my past addresses from my account. Then go to the account migration page here: Sign in to your Microsoft account,
    and migrate the account to Australia.

    Success.

    Then to double-check I went online, added a new payment option, and purchased the DLC I was after, and there it was for $1! Store currency correct again. Now to renew my Gold subscription with a code and should be smooth sailing from here.

    Right. Update time! Problem solved for any future person reading this.
