Xbox Store Prices for digigal copys

Hi all

What is the deal with the XB1 store and pricing, take the new Aliens title for example £45 on amazon, for a boxed copy with disc..

But on the Xbox1 store for the same edition is £59.99, this is for a download, come on Micro$oft why such a high price for a digital

copy and so low on retail. Surely this is madness..

Expensiv Game in MS Store

Hey all together,

i really wanna buy this game as a digital Copy on my German Xbox One because i don't like to put in Discs all the time. There is one really big Problem in the german Microsoft Store for digital Copies, they are more expensive than in other Shops lika Amazon.

e.g. NBA 2k14 is in the Store right now for 57,99 € in the German Amazon Online Shop (shipping, Disc, Manual...included) for only 37,99 €.

In my thought that is not that god as the community want. Please help me to get my digital Copys for at least the same minimal Price as in other Shops.

Oh im wondering can I go 100% offline and just buy and play games offline???

BTW when I say buy and play I don't mean digital copy of xbox store I mean Physical copys thanks

 

Digital copies are sold at the RRP,online shops etc aren't.

Digital should be cheaper though,more people would go digital if it weren't for the price.

MS dont want Game, Grainger games etc to close. If they offered the game at a lower price than these stores nobody will buy from, them and they will go out of business. Not bad when it comes to software btut when that shiny new console is due for release
you cant just download them.

I am glad MS do this as I think stores like Game etc provide a decent service and I much prefer disc versions

 

That's all well and good Boas but I think it's a cop out. It's common knowledge GAME makes the majority of its profits from the preowned market, very little is made on new games. It wouldn't surprise me if M$ make more than than retailers for each new release
sale. If digital games were £30 then I'd download every game I purchase just for the convenience, until then I'll continue to buy 90% of my games on disc. A, because it's cheaper and B, because I can trade in.

 

Game may make most of their profitys from pre-owned but i bet they also sell a hell of alot of consoles.

How would MS/SONY/NINTENDO get their consoles into our hands if it wasnt for these stores. Okay you can order online but i did that with my ps4 and i will never order a console online again because of the hassle if you need to return something.

Do you think the companies mentioned above wouldnt love to have 100% of games sales go through their online store? but as you said if the price was lower you wouldnt buy discs, as would many others, then game stores cease to exist.

 

Of course M$ need game stores and other places to distribute there console but overpricing digital copies of games to keep the likes of GAME in business is a kick in the teeth to gamers. To use GAME as an example - a company who are more than willing to
charge £10+ more than supermarkets for a new release and a company who offer pretty much 50% of the value within a week of a games release if you trade in. GAME prey on the uneducated and is a vile company and I know you only used them as an example but the
day GAME ceases to trade the better.

 

Like I said in your other thread, its down to fair trading. Go to Tesco. £40. Job done.

 

I completely agree that Game prey on the uneducated and it is the gamer that has to suffer (as usual). At the end of the day though they provide a service and that service is useful to some people so i have to disagree with that Game ceasing to trade would
be a good thing.

 

Dont know how legal it is but you can use the hong kong xb store,alien iso is £27,better look into it first though.
