Xbox Stop connecting to internet completely

Hello, I got a used xbox 360 from my aunt after christmas. i have been using xbox live with it ever since i got it, 2 days ago i was playing xbox and then went outside with my brother for 30min. i left my xbox on because i knew i wasnt going to be gone for
long, but it started storming when we were outside and a bolt of lightning hit down the street from us when we were outside so we came in. It randomly disconnected me from xbox live. i went to the settings to check my connection and it didnt show me even having
my ethernet cord plugged in, which it was. so i changed cords seeing if it was just the cord and still nothing. i checked both cords on my computer and it worked fine. it's also not the port to the router because other things work from that slot. so now all
i can think of is it's my xbox. because it worked before and it's not the router or cords. please help, i dont want to have to buy a new xbox. what could be wrong and is there a fix?

Connecting Problem

Is anyone else having the same problem today with their xbox one not connecting to xbox live? My xbox says your internet is fine but it won't specify why it won't connect. My internet is completely fine. Also the screen is freezing.

Several consoles through the same router

Hmm - not sure about that. I know for a fact though that may put strain on the router and give you a crappy internet connection. I doubt there is any setting in the Xbox that stops you from doing that though.

You didn't give us the network test results...Please do that and post the log.

sure your router's physical ports are in mint condition and that the Ethernet cable you're using is in working order, which you've already done.

However, if you have the option, go to Xbox Network settings and select Connection type. Select Configure Network and on the Addtional settings tab, select Restore to factory settings.

Turn off your console and unplug the Power supply from your console for 10 minutes and then reconnect everything back.

If it still prompts you with: 'To use a wired internet connection make sure an ethernet cable is connected to both your console and your router or modem', you will need to request a repair for your console.

If you have the option to connect your consoles with wireless, then try this method and see if it can connect properly. Otherwise, request a repair for your console at: myservice.xbox.com

I am trying to get my hands on one. Since I posted that query my Xbox has completely stopped connecting to the internet. I’ve tried all the steps it recommends but non of them work.

It was not my intention to break the rules of this forum. I'll rephrase my question.

If the WIFI board for some reason becomes completely fried (or the chips on it just stop working), will the Xbox One still function if controllers are connected using Charge and Play, and an Ethernet cable is connected for Internet access?

I understand that you are experiencing issues connecting to your network.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Kindly power cycle the Xbox by pressing and holding the Xbox power button for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

Wait a few minutes, then turn it back on.

And then restart your network hardware.

To do this, unplug your modem and router for about 5 minutes.

Plug them back in and wait for all the lights to stabilize.

Restart your Xbox and try connecting again.

Next is to test your network connection.

On your Xbox, go to Settings > General > Network Settings and select Test Network Connection.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly connect to your network using a Ethernet cable via wired connection. And then see if it works with this type of connection.
