Xbox stereo headset won’t hold a charge

I recently purchased a new wireless Xbox stereo headset. Used until it needed a charging, but it won’t and never has held a charge! It will work when it’s plugged in, but won’t hold a charge. I’ve tried reset console, pairing, hard reset headset, updated headset, plugged into console, plugged into outlet think I’ve tried everything there is to do. Any help on this matter? Or just send them back?

I'm afraid after all you've done the headset needs to be replaced. This link contains instructions on how to open the replacement order with Microsoft.

If your Xbox One stereo Headset is not working properly, check the following.

Make sure the Controller software has been upgraded to support the stereo Headset adapter
Make sure that new batteries are inserted into the controller. When the batteries have a low charge level, some features of the controller such as audio and rumble are deactivated to optimize the remaining charge.
Make sure that the headset adapter is securely connected to the controller and that the 3.5 mm cable from the stereo headset is securely connected to the headset adapter. You can perform this verification by pressing the voice mute button and checking
that the LED lights up.
To see if your Xbox One stereo Headset is working, try it with another device, such as a portable computer. If it doesn't work, you need to replace it. To order a replacement headset, visit the Xbox online Help Center.
If possible, try using the stereo headset and the stereo headset adapter with a different controller. If the headset is working with this second controller, try updating the first controller again. If the problem is still not resolved, you must replace
the controller. To order a replacement headset, visit the Xbox online Help Center.

ok update my controller along with stereo headset have started to work normally. i don't need the plug and play i can boot up my xboxone with the stereo headset attached and it works flawlessly. that is until the battery charge goes past half way. then it
will disconnect once fully charged back to working normally

Hey there!

Sorry to hear you have been having such a hard time with the headsets on your console. Now I understand you have tried multiple headsets and controllers. Have you tried to plug in the headsets onto an Xbox One stereo headset adapter?

If you have not done this I would advise that you try and get a hold of an adapter so that you can test this out. This has helped solve this issue for many users.
