Xbox stereo headset not working after preview program update

Your best bet would be to head over to the preview program support forums, and post your issue there. That forum has a dedicated support team who are skilled on the various issues affecting the preview updates

My mic doesn't appear to be working on my Xbox One Stereo headset. Interesting are you by chance in the Xbox One preview program buckeye?

If your Xbox one Controller doesn't work or gets disconnected after you plug in your Stereo Headset Adapter, unplug your adapter,
and then update your controller without the adapter. After the controller is updated, insert your Stereo Headset Adapter back into the controller.

preview program you will want to post to the insider forums . Additionally, submitting

feedback through the console will be the best way to make sure the team is aware that you are having an issue.

Also, it might be helpful to know when you say "...actual headsets designed to work with XB1", are you referring to the "Xbox One Stereo Headset" ? If so,
may I suggest you double check "Set up and troubleshoot your Xbox One Stereo Headset" .
