    Xbox Stereo Headset Mic not working


    Sometime after the May update my mic stopped working on my Xbox One S, I can hear both game and chat sound perfect but no one can hear me. Headset icon is present in the top right of the home screen, ring around my gamertag in the party chat menu lights
    up briefly when initially plugged in but goes out and does not light up at all when speaking.

    I have been scanning the forums for over a month now searching for a fix trying all the standard troubleshooting methods to no avail.

    I even switched over to my older Xbox One and the same problem persists on that console as well, used a brand new wireless headset, used a cell phone ear bud headset and all of them give the same issue.

    All consoles are one OS Version 10.0.15063.3054 (rs2_release_xbox_1705.170512-1759)

    Controller Firmware version 3.1.122.1.0

    Headset adapter Firmware version 4.8.0.0

    Other things I have already tried,

    -hard reset/reboot on router

    -connected via both wifi and ethernet

    -verified mic is not muted on the adapter itself as well as the console setting

    -tested on another xbox live account on the same consoles (did not work)

    -tested on a third xbox console in the same household (did not work)

    -cortana over headset does not pick up mic either

    -reset network cache

    -Nat Type = Open

    The only solution I can find publically is buying a brand new xbox console has solved it.

    Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

    I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?

    Can't hear anyone on my XB1 Stereo Headset

    Why is my regular mic working, but not my xb1 stereo headset? I can't hear anyone and they can't hear me.

    The mic that came with the Xbox one works. My adapter chat button makes the game volume higher. Is it suppose to be like that?

    X Box One Controller is muted

    Our xbox one controllers stopped working with the stereo headset (just the mic) all simultaneously.

    We tried plugging it into the 3.5 mm jack. None of my 3 controllers worked after having worked fine for months. All updated to latest firmware.

    I tested the headset on my iphone and the mic was fine there- I could record voice memos with no problems

    went to GameStop and spent $50 for the stereo headset adapter, and that allowed the mic to work again for another 30 days.



    Now the mic is stuck on mute again, the headset adapter’s slashmark icon stays lit

    Headset not working, i can hear people, but they cant hear me.

    My mic doesn't appear to be working on my Xbox One Stereo headset. Interesting are you by chance in the Xbox One preview program buckeye?
