Xbox starts by itself, resets all video settings, and makes strange power-on chime.

I have the Advanced Warfare edition Xbox. For starters, the Xbox proceeded to turn on by itself while I was on my computer. I noticed the white Xbox logo, and then it played a startup chime that was twice as long as the normal one. I started recording, so
you should view the link below, but i'll narrate what happens anyway. I switched to the xbox's video source, and it cycles past it, back to my computer's source, because it doesn't detect any signal. So I shut down the xbox, and it makes a really long power-off
chime. Anyway, I start it up again, and the start-up chime is normal, and I power it down, and the power-down chime is normal. At this point, I stopped recording, but afterwards, all my video settings were reset to defaults. For example, the resolution was
480p, 24-bit color, standard RGB color space, compatibility settings like you'd find if you held the power button and eject button to reset the video settings. Anyway, the question is: What happened and how could I possibly trigger it again?

    :)

Power button and disc eject button make no sound

My Xbox One X regular edition has stopped making the normal chimes when the power button is pressed/console turned on and disc eject button. It is only 5 months old. I find this a little strange and question if something else is going to go wrong next. I
do not plug it in a surge protector.

    - I have full restarted my Xbox.

    - I have unplugged my Xbox, pressed the power button for a few minutes and then plugged it back in.

    - I checked to make sure the chime setting was on in the settings (obviously).

    - I changed the chime setting to off then full restarted then turned the setting back on and full restarted again.

I would like to know if this could be a software issue and doing a system reset would make a difference or if this is more of a hardware issue. I can live without the sounds but a new Xbox shouldn't be having any issues.

  3. Stuck on green loading screen

Press & hold the button on left side of console (if you are facing the console), then also press & hold the eject button (continue holding both of these buttons), now press the xbox power button (continue to hold all 3 buttons until the xbox chimes, then
release power button - still hold both the side & eject button until the xbox chimes again - then release all buttons). A black background screen comes up with the option of resetting to factory settings - choose this one. **Then, choose to reset with saving
your apps & games** When it starts up, you have to go through the whole set up (choosing language, time zone, setting up kinect, etc.) but it doesn't take long.

    Hello there,

That sure doesn't look right. You can try resetting your xbox video settings by following the below steps:

    1. Power down your Xbox One by holding the power button on the console for 5-10 seconds. You'll need to keep the power button held down until it's completely turned off.
    2. Turn the xbox back on by holding both the disc eject and power buttons for at least 10-20 seconds. Keep both buttons pressed until you hear a second chime. Don't let go of them until you do.

This should reset the video settings on the console back to their factory setting of 640x480 resolution.

You'll need to head in to the settings after and adjust the default to the best resolution your TV can support.

If your picture is still not as expected afterwards, you may need to consult the manual for your TV to make sure alternate settings haven't been activated on the TV itself.

Let me know if this works for you.

My Xbox one is stuck with a display resolution of 640x480

    Try the following:

Remove any disc from your console, if necessary, then hold the power button on the console to completely shut the console down.

Now hold down the eject button, and hold the power button. The console will chime as soon as you press the power button as usual, but keep holding Eject and Power button, until the console chimes a second time.

This will force the console to reset it's resolution settings to a rescue resolution.

Now try going to the console's video settings and set the resolution according to these instructions:

Full shutdown option on Xbox one?

Please explain in more detail what you are wanting to do.
What i want to know if there's another easy shortcut to power cycle the console without having to press the power button in front of the console for 10 seconds as usual i think the full shutdown option on the settings does a power cycle

Plus does the console also make two chimes when selecting shut down this Xbox rather than resetting the console in the troubleshoot menu it's got four options reset this Xbox, offline update , continue and shut down this Xbox and when i select shut down
this Xbox it makes two chimes when it's shutting down i don't remember hearing it like that

Xbox One X Gears Limited Edition making strange chime noise continuously.

To turn it off go to:

Xbox One's Settings: Power & Startup menu. Users who don't want to hear the chime can turn it off. There's also the
option to hear the chime only if it is powered on at the console itself or by voice command, not with the controller button.
