Xbox Start-up Issue

So for a week or so, I've been having an issue with the Xbox loading screen. Every time I turn it on, it seems to stay on a black screen, I've tried unplugging the Xbox console and battery for a day, and no solution. I left it on for a day and nothing, still
stayed black. I also left it off for about 2 days, and when I re-turned it on, it was the same issue? Any suggestions?

As long as you delete the profile only, as soon as you redownload your profile, you should still be able to access your saves. If you have any more questions, just ask.

Have you tried unplugging the console for a few minutes, plugging it back in waiting a little longer and try to boot the system up again? After, give it some time to see if it finally loads up.

If this doesn't work consider using the OSUDT (Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool) to reset your console to factory defaults. You can learn more by following the link below:

You should use it only after you have exhausted all other troubleshooting steps. The diagnostic tool file is very large, and this troubleshooting process will take considerable time to complete.

If you're not sure whether you've previously loaded system updates, try the OSUDT1 file first. If it doesn't install, then try OSUDT2. Using an older version of the Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool file won't damage the console.

This happened to me. The OSUDT2 wouldnt take. Had to send it in.

 

Hi, if your Xbox software is up to date then no amount of fiddling about with the offline system updates will fix things. There is however something else you can try which has been proven to fix this black screen issue.

Sme here, displays xbox logo but then black screen. Never boots completely. HALP!!!

 

mine is doing the same i did the flash drive update. same thing. i chated with tech support. they said it was a software issue and i have to pay 135 dollars to get it fixed. something is fishy......it was fine until the last update.....

 

Hi, did anyone bother to try the link in my previous post. It involves doing a factory defaults reset using a usb flash drive. It does work as you'll see by the responses in the thread.

 

I have tried everything. what finally worked is odst2 file extracted to a flash drive and the extract the the restore to default file to overwrite the update.vxd file in the odst2 update. make sure you leave the rest of the files in thodst2 file though.
