    Xbox "Speech to Text" Messaging not Displaying any Text


    As a big fan of the "Speech-to-Text" feature, it has made it easier to send messages during gaming, but unfortunately, the feature has not been working the way it has in the past. Before, whenever I brought up the Xbox keyboard,
    I was able to press the "view" button to begin dictating what I want the message to say. Now it seems it will not recognize anything that I say, and will not output any text. I've tried turning off and on Cortana, and hard resetting my Xbox, but to no avail.
    However, the feature does indeed work on my other profiles. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Voice Messaging and Speech-To-Text?

    So I searched the forums for voice message, and the last thread I saw tagged with XBox One was in February... so where is the voice message option when messaging a friend? For the life of me I cannot find it.

    Also, what is the command to get the XBox One to type out your message (speech-to-text). I've gotten really accustomed to Cortana on my windows phone typing out everything I speak, so I think I'm safe in assuming the XBox One can do that as well?

    I just got mine on Wednesday, so I feel a little dumb asking these questions here, but I just cant find these options on the console.

    Oh... I can't help but feel a little bit of "Seriously?". The voice message is standard on the 360 so I thought I was just missing something.... but oh well. Thanks for the info and I will be sure to go vote!

    To turn that on:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Ease of Access > Game and chat transcription.
    3. To transcribe other party members’ voices into text, select the Speech-to-text checkbox.
    4. To have your chat text read aloud to other party members, select the Text-to-speech checkbox. To choose the voice that other people will hear when your chat text is read aloud, select one of the available voices in the Text-to-speech voice menu.
