Xbox "spam users" are getting out of hand.

Require all new accounts to spend at least $5/ local currency worth to unlock posting messages in their feed.

it's a good idea but there are plenty of people who would complain that it was just MS getting greedy trying to force gamers to pay to send messages.

it would be better to have it linked to gamer score or some other activity that would prove the account is used for gaming rather than spam or scams

Ive seen this reported afew times now but in my whole time of been an xbox user ive never had a single spam message and ive been playing xbox since the original xbox back in 2003.

If this is really a widespread issue then your idea would be a good way of limiting this.

In settings if you go to account - privacy and online saftey - xbox live privacy - view details and customise - communication and multiplayer there should be others can communicate with voice, text or invites. You can set this to friends only.

You can also block and report these people and messages.

Just block and report any you see like this, They are bots and enforcement team are handling this.

Maybe you're just "lucky". I haven't gotten any of these in several months and even then it's just 1 every so often. Fairly rare in my experience.

Just block and report and never respond to them. That's all you can do.
