    Xbox sounds/mic not working in party but working in game


    I have been running into the issue where i can hear sound and talk to other players through m headset when i play games, but whenever i try to use a party it says it doesnt recognize a mic and i cant hear anything. Whenever i open the menu i also dont
    have any sounds but i do have sound in game. I have tried switching both controllers and headsets and this problem still persists. Does anyone know a solution?

    HELP Mic not working

    Just bought a new headset and mic is not working. The mic icon dont show up on party chat and cant chat to anyone. Everything thing is fine including game sound. But mic dont work. I plugged it into the controller and followed instructions but its still
    not working. Please help?

    Xbox One Wired Mic not working

    I've tried both replacing batteries and plugging in controller and nothing seems to work. The Mic was working fine until I tried to restart console to get party chat working which it froze restarting so I hard reset it and now Mic isn't working but lights
    up makes sound but nothing else.

    Mic not working in Fortnite - Xbox one.

    This same issue has been ongoing for months. My son can hear his friends but his mic doesnt work.

    The “fix” where you turn off the mic and push to talk in fortnite settings would occasionaly work bit now doesnt.

    all other games and apps work with the mic.

    The problem persists on another xbox signed in with his profile, using a different headset, so this is not a hardware issue.

    other profiles on his xbox have no issues with sound/mic

    this is an issue effecting certian profiles accross fortnite only party chat, xbox party chat works fine, which cant be used for crossplatform party play.

    Is the mic an xbox usb mic or just a 3rd party mic? If it's 3rd party it may not work with the titles properly.

    No idea. As soon as thechat mic is out of controller chat sound comes through but you have to use mic. Also as Party Chat is not working is it possible to use skype in the background instead?
