    Xbox sound going out when blue ray movie was exited out of


    I was watching a blueray movie when I exited out of it (not the correct way but just clicking YouTube and leaving the blueray disc player open) then while on YouTube the audio was not playing at all so I exited out of YouTube(but didn’t have the option to close out of the blueray player, thinking that the audio was stuck on that, when closing out of YouTube) and tried again. Nothing seems to work. I’ve unplugged everything and plugged it back in,, I’ve tried restarting the Xbox, and going to My Xbox Assist < audio < rest audio. How do u get the audio to work?

    Hello there, let's see if we can figure out what's going on here.

    1. Can you provide the model of the Xbox console--like, is this an Xbox Series X, or is it an Xbox One X, etc.?
    2. Do you have any additional sound devices (soundbar connected to the Xbox directly or to the TV)?
      • If so, can you try just testing if the sound works when it's connected with just the TV?
    3. Does the sound work if you connect to the on-board aux on the controller (the headphone jack)?
    4. Are you fully updated on the Xbox?

    Xbox one will not Recognize DVD or backwards compatible games

    sounds like the red laser diode has failed, this will cause all dvd reading functions to cease, blue ray will work and xbox one games as they are blue ray as the diode will be ok.

    may need to go for repair to get the drive fixed or swapped out.
