So I'm here with an odd question. Last night my little brother was playing rocket league and I know little about that game because ace combat has me hooked right now but that is a different topic. He got I guess you'd call it a trade request and a guy
demanded that he give up some 'decal' otherwise he'd disconnect the Xbox permanently which sound ridiculous because thats hardware and not software. Which according to my brother the guy remotely turned of the console and turned it back on. I find this very
hard to believe because Microsoft is a multi-billion dollar company. So I guess I my question is. Has anyone else ever had anything close to this happen to them?

Can't say I have heard of this one before and don't think it's possible, I only know of switching off the console via the phone app but it requires a set of actions that stops people doing what is said here that shouldn't be possible unless a select few
things are met one is being on the same router connection as the console, but I suggest you block and report the user who ment to have done it to stop it happening again and not contact the user again.

He may have performed a DoS or DDoS attack, which floods your IP address with packets of useless data, which denies you internet access. Anytime you or your brother is threatened on xbox live, always use the
reporting features so that the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement team can take action.
Stop communication with the player and refuse any party invites (Preferably block them)

Unfortunately the internet isn't safe, and no amount of money can really stop it without hindering the very service you want to play on. IE) Party Chat and Multiplayer games require a "shared" connection. Without going into too much detail, this makes it
possible for them to find your IP which they can use to disrupt your internet connection. As far as your xbox, it's possible he got ahold of your brothers login information and the threat was to get him banned.

If you believed this has happened to you, or as a safety precaution:

Contact your ISP so that they can verify no other IP address has accessed your server
Change your Passwords
Follow the Compromised Account Solution

Unfort. not, however, i get these spam messages from ppl looking for love and giving links to there naked pics. So, i just block, mute, and report them. Theres only so much we can do. Im sure the Enforcement Team gets tons and tons of reports. I wish i
can tell you more of what you can do. Just make sure you guys dont give out any personal info. Also, try changing the pass word. And whatever else you can do. Xbox should be a fun and safe place to play.
