Xbox Social and Xbox App aren't working

basically the same issue for me, can load Xbox app (windows 10 latest updates) but NO access to social just the same "this is taking longer than expected" error message.

Have tried repair ect yet still no joy.

Anyone else had this issue and found a fix yet?

Basing on the statement you provided above, here are some troubleshooting steps that you may try:



1. Check the Xbox Live service status page to see if there are any known issues with the Xbox Social and Xbox App.



2. Make sure that your internet connection is stable and working properly. You can try resetting your router or modem to see if that helps.



3. Clear the cache and cookies on your web browser and try accessing the Xbox Social again.



4. Try using a different device or web browser to see if the issue persists.



5. Update Windows: Make sure that your Windows is up-to-date. Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings. On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update. On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available for your device. After the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation. Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.

6. Repair the Xbox app: Right-click on the Start icon or press Win + X to open the Power User menu. Select Installed apps from the list. Scroll down to locate the Xbox app on the list. Click the three-dot menu icon next to it and select Advanced options. Scroll down to the Reset section and click on Repair.
