    Xbox so slow... HELP

I have the original xbox 360 I got I think in 2008. I haven't modded or anything, only played games. Now it is running really slow, it takes forever to boot up, it takes even more time to read discs. I have to keep putting discs in and out, and sometimes
while in game it says can't read disc so I have to leave my game and restart. What can I do? Should I get a new hard drive or something? I really need help. Thanks

    :)

    Try clearing your system's cache

    support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

If that doesn't work you can certainly try purchasing a new hard drive. However, I think the actual reason for this may be more along the lines that the console has run it's course. It's led a good life of six years and may need to be replaced.

You should check local gaming stores and see if you can't trade up. That's what I did when my console got too old.

Then I would have to redownload any updates...

    Anything else I can do?

I like the trading idea... would I be able to trade for a xbox 360 slim or something? Are the hard drives compatible with eachother? I have lots of controllers and parts I could trade in as well, also, an old iphone 4.

The hard drive that you have is not compatible with the newer consoles. However, if you get a console with a hard drive then you can purchase an official Xbox transfer cable and move all the items over to the new drive.

You don't have to trade in your controllers though. They will be compatible with the newer Xbox 360 consoles.

If you live in the US you could check out GameStop. I believe they accept iphones, etc as trade ins as well.

I do live in the US. ANd I have so many controllers, would they accept them, and an xbox for a new gen xbox? Is it even worth transfering my hard drive? What kind of data is on it anyway?
