Xbox Slim touch eject button malfunctioning.

During operation in high humidity (80%) or temperatures greater than 80 (occasionally) my xbox slim touch eject button acts up. Sometimes it will simply 'ding' on its own and not eject..In one instance it actually did eject mid-game. That was great... During
this period the eject button is unresponsive. I can eject from the dash so I'm assuming I'm pretty sure it's the touch button that's at fault. I've searched and I'm not the only one with this issue..and I noticed on newer 360s they opted to go back to physical
buttons.

I actually noticed this while I still had six months left in my warranty but I was a little afraid to send it out and get it back in worse condition given that this was the only problem with it. My temporary workaround is to run my A/C on high humidity/hot
days. I don't suppose Xbox setup some sort of good-will for this issue?

Edit: I'm aware of the recommended operating conditions. I'm well within them. This xbox has never been disassembled and is at it was from the factory. I do take care of it as much as you can without taking it apart and dusting.

Is the synchronize button on a 360 slim touch sensitive like the Eject & Power buttons or dose it need a proper press?

Thanks. The issue really only presents itself in the summertime when its humid and my a/c isn't on. I'm almost tempted to live with it since it isnt _that_ big a deal. I'll call and see if they'd be willing to good-will repair it but I won't hold my breath.
I'll send it in when it stops working altogether..if it ever does.
