    Like all subscription based services in the world the subscriber gets certain perks. Microsoft rewards it's subscribers with early access to some demos, special sales events, free games, etc. Credit Card companies reward their members with things like cash
    back, cell phone companies that you subscribe to have roll-over minutes. It's a standard practice in this wonderful world of capitalism.

    Hi there Rat,

    I'm really sorry to hear you're frustrated over the FIFA demo. I can definitely understand how that would be irritating.

    The good news is that the FIFA demo is not gold exlusive, though Gold members are given early access. The demo becomes available to all Xbox Live members on September 17th.

    Silver is just an account without a gold subscription. So if you haven't purchased a gold subscription, you already are silver.

    Xbox Live "Silver" accounts are now known as Xbox Live "Free" accounts.

    All accounts without the paid Gold subscriptions are considered "Free", especially new signups.

    There's no need to delete your account in order to downgrade to Free, if that's what you're asking? You just have to cancel your Gold subscription or just let it expire.

    well be nice if they fix the bugs in the billy info for gold users, and give us back the slip into xbox live silver when our gold subs run out or our prepay cards run out, but NOPE they now just suspended your account, so to slip out of gold membership is

    I'm really sorry to hear this. I have had complications in the past with my membership. (Not being able to pay for gold for a short amount of time, and missing out on some things.)

    I don't work at Microsoft, But to my understanding, I believe it is their way of creating incentive to pay for online play. Some people consider it rational, some don't. But I do hope you find what fits for you my friend.

    Please don't bump old yhreads. If you're being suspended, you need to make sure auto-renewal is turned off. If it's left on and you can't pay, then yes, they will suspend you. If it's turned offer, you will just rebert to silver.
