Xbox sign in issue

Xbox Live has been having some issues today but when you check the Xbox Live status these look like they are now resolved. Are you still experiencing issues now?

Usually, that issue indicates some problem with your console's connection to Xbox Live. First, please restart your network by unplugging your router and modem for at least 5 minutes. Reconnect your network and while the Xbox is on, go
ahead and do a hard reset and power cycle to the console. Hold down
the power button on the console for about 10 seconds or until it shuts down. Once the Xbox is off, remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and wait 60 seconds before turning on the Xbox. Holding down the
power button on the console to force a hard reset and then removing the power cable are both important steps.

I've never had an issue like this before, so could you explain the situation more. What do you mean that the controller won't let you enter the password once it's typed in?

BTW as far as i know there is no fix, last time this happened it just took a day or so before they fixed the problem
