Xbox Sign-In Code Keeps Expiring Instantly + Account Won’t Log In (Unless Re-Added)

That constant loop with sign-in codes expiring and being forced to re-add your account every time is definitely not how things should work, and I can see how that'd get frustrating fast. Here are the things you can try to break the cycle.

Start by clearing profile data and cached credentials. This helps when the console or app gets stuck in a broken login loop.

On Xbox Console:

Go to Settings > Account > Remove Accounts

Remove your profile

Then go to Settings > System > Storage > Clear local saved games (Don’t worry — cloud saves are safe)

Power cycle the console:

Hold the power button for 10 seconds until it shuts off

Unplug it for 30 seconds, then turn it back on

Re-add your profile and try logging in again

On PC or mobile app:

Sign out of the Xbox app or launcher

Clear stored credentials in your OS (e.g., Windows Credential Manager or app data)

Restart the device

Then sign in fresh

You can also check your time and region settings

If your device has mismatched time, time zone, or region settings, it can cause sign-in codes to expire too quickly or fail validation.

On console or PC, go to system settings

Make sure the time and time zone are set to automatic

The region should match your Xbox account’s store country

Reinstall the Xbox App (if the issue happens there too)

If this is also happening on mobile or Windows app:

Uninstall the app

Restart the device

Reinstall the app and sign in again

if you sign up to xbox live via the console it doesnt send you a code, it just adds it onto your account instantly, unless you bought xbox live from a 3rd party website?

No. I am able to sign into my Xbox live account using the log in info. But the email itself has expired/been deleted a long time ago so I can’t log into the email itself. So when I want to access/change my account info and it asks me to log into my email and find the verification code, I am unable to do so. Again, I know all the info for the old expired email, I just can’t log into for the verification codes because it’s expired

I've deleted my account off of both xbox's and re-added them but its literally doing the same thing as soon as I log in on the new xbox I get logged out and signed back in on my old console

There is no 'Turn In' button after the challenge time has expired as the challenge is removed from your active challenge list and the cRedits are supposed to be added to account automatically, although this may not happen instantly. If you 'Turn In' the
challenge before the time expires it'll remove the challenge from your active challenge list, and if you've already completed it the cRedits will be added to your account ( again this doesn't always happen instantly )

There is no 'on-screen' notification for the challenge being completed, or the cRedits being added, they don't 'pop' so to speak, so the only way to tell if they have been added would be to take note of your cRedit total before you attempt a challenge, take
a note of the cRedits earned during the challenge ( score wise ). Then give it a while and re-check your cRedit total again to see if your total increase includes the challenge bonus.
