Xbox shutting off when I plug my controller into any of the USB port

Discus and support Xbox shutting off when I plug my controller into any of the USB port in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; everytime I try to plug in any of my controllers to my Xbox, my Xbox shuts down.     Xbox shutting off when I plug my controller into any of the USB port


    everytime I try to plug in any of my controllers to my Xbox, my Xbox shuts down. I’m super confused as to why this is happening. Sometimes it won’t shut down

    When I plug the usb into my controller, but it won’t allow me to use my controller at all. The batteries are dead in all of my controllers & I’ve tried 3 different USB cables.

    USB port turns off when pluggin something in.

    I have an Xbox 360 S that I've had since the launch of it and one of my front USB ports "turns itself off" when you plug in a controller, usb flash drive etc. The controller for example lights up than poof it turns off. It's only one of the USB ports the
    other one next to it works fine and the ones on the rear don't have any problems either...

    Play and Charge kit?

    It's cool, it took me almost a month before I realized there was a port there. I bought two play and charge kits so that's why I have extra batteries. One was for the PC so I could play using an X1 controller.

    Have you tried all the USB ports on the console? The problem can be caused by a single USB port. Also (with batteries or in W10) check that the controller is

    up to date    .

    Sorry to piggy back onto this question, but where do you have the charger plugged into? If I plug it into my XboxOne X, will the USB port stay powered even if the XB1 is shut off?
    The USB ports will still be receiving power if the console is set to "instant on", so if you turn the console off when it's still in "instant on" mode, you'll still be able to charge stuff using the USB cables. I'm not sure if a controller will still charge
    if the Xbox One console is fully powered down though.

    I have pretty much the same problem with no idea of a fix. Got new adapter, plugged the adapter into my controller and Astro A50's, message pops up to update controller, plug in my USB cable and the controller just shuts off and I can not get the update
    because controller must be on but it refuses to power on when both usb and adapter are plugged in

    Okay. Here's a list of what I did to try and trouble-shoot the issue.

    1 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 controllers show Player 1. Unplugged each controller individually at the in-line release/breakaway
    connector and reconnected. No change. Each still shows Player 1.

    2 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 1 Microsoft brand wireless controller into USB port on front (I know it's a wireless controller but this one is used and the rechargeable battery is completely dead and won't hold a charge.). Plugged in
    3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 regular wired controllers show Player 1. Wireless controller that's plugged into a USB port shows as Player 2.

    Issue with new Arctis 9x and xbox keyboard

    The keyboard itself plugs into my controller and the usb, I have plugged into the usb port on the front of my xbox series x. When using the keyboard, the keyboard works but the mic stops working.
