Xbox shutting down

Every time I use Hulu it shuts down my xbox and my controllers. At first I could restart it by using the app on my phone, but now that does not even work. Is there an update that I need in order to fix this?

XBOX Shutting down

Sounds like the power supply itself will need to be replaced.

http://support.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-360/troubleshoot/hardware/check-power-supply and go through the page completely. You will see a link on this page that will walk you through ordering a replacement power supply unit if necessary.

I would just get it replaced. Especially if you are still in the warranty window. I wouldn't mess around with anything that could potentially start a fire.

Sorry to see any issues with Hulu shutting down the console. There haven't been any other reports of this, so an update likely wouldn't resolve what you're running into.

Have you already uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the console? You state that it shuts down your controllers, which would be expected if the console was shut off, however you then mention that you could boot the console up with the Xbox App on your
phone. Does this mean that the controllers won't even power on your console after it's shut off? Do you have to sync the controllers after the console is turned back on?

Thanks for the reply the console doesnt overheat it just says it is as this can happen within a few minutes of turning the xbox on and starting the game i will try to uninstall and reinstall and see if that works

every time i try to open the activision web site, the warzone(COD game) installations stops and my xbox shuts down... theres nothing wrong with the vent

When the console restarts do you see a message about overheating and ventilation?

Check the ventilation holes for dust accumulation and clean them.
