    Xbox shuts off whenever my controller unplugs from it


    Yes, you read that right. Whenever my controller unplugs from the xbox the entire xbox decides to completely shut off as if it has been unplugged. If I move my controller in the wrong direction everything just shuts off. I’ve checked the power cord to the xbox and it’s plugged in fine, no other usb cords work and I’m not sure what to do.

    I would suggest you to power reset your console:

    1​​. Turn off your console and your router/modem.
    2. Unplug all the cables from both devices (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 2 minutes.
    3. After 2 minutes, plug all the cables in again on your router/modem and wait for all the lights to show up.
    ​​​4. Plug all the cables on your console and turn it on.

    After that, make sure your controller and console are updated and see if the issue persists. Please let me know how it goes.

    Controller "low power state"

    It's my understanding that the controller goes into a low power state whenever the controller leaves your hand. This helps conserve battery life & allows for the IR blaster in the Kinect to know whenever you pick it up again. Otherwise, it shuts off automatically
    in 15 min. just like the Xbox 360 controller does.

    Accidentally made a guest profile and i can't use my controller.

    well, now i shut off controller, shut down xbox, unplugged it, and powered it back up. i can scroll around again. problem solved.

    Mine is shutting off as well, solid white light on the power supply, but everytime I try to play assassins creed or madden nfl 15 it shuts off, i cant turn my xbox one on from the controller anymore either, i have changed outlets 4 times, there is nothing
