xbox shuts off after trying to run a game

My xbox will work fine on the dashboard, but as soon as i start a game it crashes 20 seconds later. also when this happens the xbox and the power brick turns off(light is not on). i know its not a power issue because i can leave the xbox on the dashboard
for hours but if i was to start a game it would shut off. all my games are downloads and i think it might be the problem with the xbox trying to load up the game and casing it to crash.

If you had a similar problem and fixed it let me know how because this is very annoying.

Burning smell from xbox 360

My xbox has a burning smell. auto shut-off after one hour is on but even with it off, fan still runs and smell of burning plastic fills the house. How do I fix this?

 

xbox one crashed

xboxone crashed when trying to play the rivals preseason game, that was downloaded, the xbox totally shut off and restarted.

The xboxone also when trying to load the fitness game that I downloaded, did not start up. when I selected the fitness game after downloading it the xbox one just went back to the home screen.

I'll get you to try a hard boot of your console, which should fix it

With the console on, and sitting at the dashboard, hold the power button on the front of the console down for 10seconds until the console switches off. Wait for a minute or two, then turn it back on and try again.

that didn't work,im doing a factory restore ill tell you how it goes

It could be a hardware fault in that case, which would mean it needs a repair.

Is it just one game that its happening to? Or every game?
