    xbox shuts down


    So when I go into a game my Xbox just turns off. I don't know what to do. I tried to unplug it and cleaning the dust nothing worked and it takes a long time it to start. Thanks

    XB1 light flashing and turned itself off...

    Anyone else had this happen?

    I was on Amazon Video and had a show paused, left to get a drink, came back and the Xbox light was blinking then seconds later the console fully shut down. I have it set to Instant On as well, but it was a full shut down.

    I thought maybe it forced a shut down to apply an update but there was nothing mentioned when I turned it back on.

    In preview program also.

    Xbox shut-down issues?

    I had some similar "issues" re: my XBOX slim S console in livingroom.....bout a yr old. My power adapter loud 4 awhile tho.

    I had some lag on LOADING and w/ MW3 online screen(must hit guide button then off), and just received back from repair few days ago, on my B-Day. It still has loading issue w/ MW3, but everything is much improved, my power-cord not replaced and seems to
    work fine tho.

    It was no cost for mailing & repair ^_^ and took 3 weeks total.

    GL w/ your console, and always call 1-800-4MY-XBOX to register and report Hardware/software problems etc. GL!

    Hello!

    You could try unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then powering it back on. If it's still doing it, I would try the option to factory reset your system (with keeping games & apps) to see if that helps.

    Hi there,

    Is your system being left idle and then its shutting off, or is it mid game? Are you getting any errors when the console starts back up? Any additional info is helpful and we can help from there

    Thanks for the reply the console doesnt overheat it just says it is as this can happen within a few minutes of turning the xbox on and starting the game i will try to uninstall and reinstall and see if that works

    every time i try to open the activision web site, the warzone(COD game) installations stops and my xbox shuts down... theres nothing wrong with the vent

    When the console restarts do you see a message about overheating and ventilation?

    Check the ventilation holes for dust accumulation and clean them.
