Xbox shuts down after a few seconds

When turning on my xbox it makes the start up noise and then the light goes out. Also the light on the power brick also goes completely out and will not turn back on until i unplug it and re plug it into the wall. Roughly 1/30 times i do this it will start
up until the xbox menu loads and then it will once again turn off as well as the power brick

Im after a solution to the problem or at least one that will let me access the power settings which i will change because i have heard of this issue being related to quick start settings

Any tips/advice is welcome and i thank you in advance

Is the power supply extremely hot? Is it plugged into the wall outlet and not a surge protector? Have you double checked to make sure the power supply is secure into the wall and the back of the console? Definitely seems a little odd though.

are you connected to the main wall outlet or via an extension? if via extension it may be that you are not getting the full amount of power required.

Hey guys. If you hold the Xbox logo on the front of the console for 10 seconds to make it fully shut down, then turn it back on after a few seconds, this issue should go away.
