Xbox shows that I'm offline when I'm online

So far this past week, xbox has been showing me offline when I had clearly been online, the only times it would show i was online was either when i was on the xbox app or starting a game. I've tried multiple things but nothing seems too work, its getting
annoying since my friends don't know if i'm online or offline and i can't get any invites if they were to send any. Please help me fix this issue.

So, this primarily happens when I'm in game on Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered, however this still happens on Infinite Warfare - I appear offline when playing in Matches (I didn't set my self offline as my status message) as soon as I get out of the
match I appear back online. During this time of me being offline I don't receive any invites, not notifications, I also can't record using encoded software for xbox. This all appeared out of no where, I've tried setting myself offline the online to see if
that works, I've tried to update but it doesn't allow me to update. If anyone can help me that would be fantastic, thank you for your time.

1. Is this issue happening with other non-Call of Duty games?

2. Is this issue happening with other Xbox Profiles?

3. May we have the exact error message prompted?

Sorry to hear it. Do you have a Windows 10 device? If so then please log on to the Xbox app there and set your account to Online. When I was showing offline that turned out to be the problem.

 

There is also an option in the Xbox settings to 'appear offline' it's in the my Profile Tab. Check this to see if it is set to appear offline.
